What’s Your Position on School Choice?

A Day Inside German Children's Daycare

“The term “school choice” when thoughtfully considered is inadequate to describe the proper emphasis of authority necessary to right the education ship.  Parents are a child’s first teacher and they should have absolute say in what and how their children learn.  We must restore parental authority over children’s education and therefore USPIE will begin by redefining the solution from “school choice” to “parental choice.”  Additionally, parental choice means “curriculum choice” where classical, technology-free and other non-Common Core curricula are available.”

The above quote is an excerpt from United States Parents Involved in Education’s (USPIE) school choice position statement. USPIE will be disseminating its school choice position statement in a few weeks as school begins around the country. The USPIE Marketing Committee needs your help to contact as many local radio talk shows as possible so we can request air time to talk about this issue and promote our mission to Stop Fed Ed. The Marketing Committee is working to create a “school choice packet” to send to radio shows which will include:

  1. USPIE School Choice Position Statement

  2. Letter requesting air time

  3. USPIE Stop Fed Ed brochure

  4. Choice Statement Press Release

Please contact your local radio talk shows and ask if they would be willing to have us on to discuss this critical issue. If you do not feel comfortable speaking on the air, USPIE President Sheri Few will be happy to participate. Communications Director April Few is happy to give the radio station an initial call if you will send her the following information to: afew@uspie.org.

  1. The name of the show

  2. The name of the host

  3. Phone

  4. Email (if possible)

  5. Address (if possible)

As your child’s first teacher, you should have absolute say in what your child learns. We encourage you to work with USPIE to restore parental authority over children’s education.

  1. I would love to talk about data mining. I think that is the main topic people are not grasping. What data will be held against them going into the job market? Will their credit scores be affected by their data? Will collages only cherry pick children to go based on their data?

    1. Thank you for your comment, Laura. You understand that data mining is the core issue that drives the machine. USPIE would like to encourage you to get involved. If you visit our website uspie.org and join the movement we will connect you with your state PIE chapter. You may also email our Communications Director April Few for more information: afew@uspie.org.
